Chlorine Disinfection System
Shipped From Abroad
Chlorine dosing systems with standard flow and ORP control, designed for precise and efficient disinfection across various capacities, operating pressures, and industrial or municipal applications.
Typically 10-21 working days – excluding furniture and heavy/bulky equipment. Please contact us for further information.
Description
Chlorine dosing units are used to oxidize oxidizable substances such as nitrite, iron, manganese in water and to disinfect contaminants such as bacteria and viruses.
Our dosing systems are designed as standard flow control and redox control. Pump selection is made by us according to the capacity to be disinfected. All pump models with different capacities and operating pressures are worked with stock.
A Chlorine Disinfection System is a method used to disinfect water, wastewater, or other fluids by adding chlorine or chlorine-based compounds. It is widely used in municipal water treatment, industrial applications, and swimming pools to kill bacteria, viruses, and other harmful microorganisms.
Key Components of a Chlorine Disinfection System
- Chlorine Source
- Gas Chlorine (Cl₂) – Highly effective but requires special handling due to toxicity.
- Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl) – Liquid bleach, commonly used in municipal and industrial water treatment.
- Calcium Hypochlorite (Ca(OCl)₂) – Solid form, used in smaller-scale applications like swimming pools.
- Chlorine Dioxide (ClO₂) – More effective against certain pathogens but requires onsite generation.
- Feed System
- Includes pumps, injectors, and flow meters to control the dose of chlorine added to the water.
- Mixing & Contact Chamber
- Ensures proper mixing of chlorine with water and provides enough contact time for disinfection.
- Residual Monitoring & Control
- Sensors and analyzers measure chlorine residuals to maintain effective disinfection without overdosing.
- Dechlorination System (if required)
- Used in wastewater treatment to remove excess chlorine before discharge, usually with sulfur-based chemicals (e.g., sodium bisulfite, sulfur dioxide).
Advantages of Chlorine Disinfection
- Highly effective against bacteria and viruses
- Provides residual protection in the distribution system
- Cost-effective and widely available
